Swim With The Manatees

Over the years my company has developed a reputation for customer care, cleanliness, friendliness, trust, timeliness, and dedication.

Our summer manatee tours depart at 7:00 AM only. During the late spring, summer, and early fall the manatees are most active in the early morning hours. A later tour would only result in a disappointing adventure.

Since it takes some time to fit and don wetsuits we ask that you please arrive 30 minutes before departure.

Swim with the Manatees in the pristine, clear waters of the Homosassa River and the Blue Springs on the Nature Coast of Florida. This area, along with the Crystal River, is home to the largest concentration of manatees in the world.

Walk out of your room and on to our tour boat. This tour (Tour B/The Miss Homosassa) departs from the Homosassa Riverside Resorts, 5297 S. Cherokee Way, Homosassa, Florida, 34448

It is not necessary to be an experienced diver to enjoy swimming with the manatees.

Most take to snorkeling in minutes. If you wish to dive, we have a PADI Certified Dive Instructor.

Your comfort and safety is our number one priority on all of our tours. If you prefer not to enter the water you can stay topside to view the manatees.

Read our Rules of Engagement
In keeping with our commitment to protect and preserve our manatees and their sanctuary we have issued some "Rules of Engagement". Our Captains will enforce these rules which are written to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the majestic and gentle manatee. Please read these rules because we believe they will make yours and your fellow guests encounter much more enjoyable.

A Manatee Protection Surcharge of 2% will be will be added to your total fee that will be forwarded to the Friends of Chassahowitzka, a 501c(3) charitable organization, that will be earmarked for the safety of manatees in our local waters. These funds will be directed towards law enforcement to ensure that manatees are protected. 10% of these funds will be donated to Keep Citrus County Beautiful to promote education in solid waste handling, motivating anti-litter solutions and changing business practices while contributing to the beautification of Citrus County.

If you wish to opt out of this surcharge, please notify me at the time of your booking.

We would like to thank our guests for their contributions over the past year. This has amounted to over $10,000.00 for the protection of manatees in Citrus County.

We urge other Tour Operators, Businesses, Rental Boat Operators, Kayak Rental Companies and Private Manatee Protection organizations to follow our lead in this. Funds raised for this will be used for the law enforcement needed in our county for the well being of manatees.

We require seven (7) days notification if you wish to cancel a tour. This is consistent with airline, car rental agency and hotel policies. If you have reserved a tour for a group of 10 or more, we require a 3 week cancellation notice. We will not refund short-notice cancellations. We pre-charge all credit card reservations for the cost of the tour. We have always required a credit card to hold a reservation. Unfortunately, we have had a lot of people reserve spots on a tour and then not show up. We make a commitment to you, who often travel long distances to get here, that you will have a seat on one of our boats. We need the same commitment from you that you will arrive and be on time. Otherwise, we needlessly disappoint someone else who would have liked your space(s) on the tour and / or we pay a Captain that we did not need. This cancellation policy is to give us time to re-sell any seats left vacant and helps us keep our prices reasonable for you. Thank you for understanding.
